Wishing Well Lodge is a mountain valley paradise. Here, you can relax, eat well, & explore. Nestled in the idyllic Upper Valley, you’ll enjoy panoramic views from a wraparound porch, a large patio with a fire pit, or a hot tub.
A large gravel patio, & fire pit looks towards the highest peak in New Mexico. Unique amenities--a luxury fire pit/grill, kennel, stroller, French press coffee, spices, high chair, pull-through gravel parking lot, Blackstone griddle, & more--will delight parents, children, dogs, cooks, & outdoorsmen alike.
Everyone is welcome, but the lodge especially caters to...
Children: If traveling with kids at the Wishing Well Lodge, we provide ample accommodations, gear, and activities for all ages. The large loft is a kid’s retreat with a secret hideout, board games, and an entertainment center (Roku, DVDs, Wii). We have a crib, a highchair for babies and toddlers, and a jogging stroller suitable for evening strolls down peaceful gravel roads. And, yes, there are plenty of sippy cups. :)
Dogs: Our home welcomes well-behaved dogs (max of 2) of all shapes and sizes. We provide a large kennel, bedding, food, bowls, leashes, poo bags, and more! The backyard allows ample space for fetch to wear Fido out before retiring for the evening. (Dog fee = $125 per stay, non-refundable)
Foodies: When not dining out, you can prepare unforgettable meals inside or outside. The kitchen is stocked with quality gear, essentials, and spices! After starting your day with fresh-ground, French-pressed coffee, you can cook breakfast on a large Blackstone gas griddle or the flames of a luxury Breeo firepit.
Off-roaders: Our property has generous gravel parking for all your vehicles (Jeeps, ATVs, OHVs, snowmobiles, hovercraft, etc.) and trailers of all sizes.
SPECIAL NOTICES:
WINTER DRIVING: The house is accessible year-round, but roads can be snowy in the winter. We strongly encourage people visiting from December through March to have a four-wheel-drive vehicle with decent clearance (SUV, truck, etc.). Smaller vehicles without four-wheel-drive may do okay with tire chains or if snows have been light, but don’t say we didn’t warn you!
GARBAGE REMOVAL & DISHES BY HAND: Due to the rural, rustic nature of our lodge, guests are required to remove all garbage & deliver it to dumpsters 2-4 miles away, as well as clean and put away all dishes and kitchenware. This also helps us keep the cleaning fee down. If you want a luxury hotel experience or maids, you should look elsewhere. :)
SECOND BATHROOM/LAUNDRY: Our second bathroom with laundry is in a detached garage. (see pictures). The walk is short and covered but must be outside briefly. We think this is great for cleaning up after skiing, hiking, etc. But some people find it troublesome to be outside for a few seconds. :)
NO PARTIES: The lodge is in a rural, residential area. We want to maintain the area's peace. Thus, guests must: 1) Abide by our max guest limits at ALL times and not have more people on the property than the claimed number of guests. 2) Not play loud music outside at any time, and not be louder outdoors than conversation level after 9 PM. 3) Not use bright outdoor (porch) lighting after 9 PM beyond brief use as needed.
SECURITY CAMERAS: The exterior of our house is monitored by a security camera 24/7; in part, to make sure these rules are followed. If any of these rules are violated, guests will be subject to immediate eviction and/or a $500 fine.

WINTER DRIVING WARNING!!! The lodge sits in the Upper Valley, getting a massive amount of snow in the winter months (late Oct - April). While the roads & driveway are typically plowed fairly quickly, it is highly recommended you drive a vehicle with four-wheel drive and high clearance (larger truck or SUV); snow chains are a bonus but typically not needed if larger 4-wheel drive vehicle.
